There is a surprising large number of wines produced in Umbria but the most famous are the crispy white wine from Orvieto and the plummy velvety red from Montefalco. Enjoy a unique experience at one of the local “Cantinas” with guided visit to the winery followed by wine tasting with typical local products.

Umbria produces a very very special oil which has a peppery taste and a bright green colour. This experience consists in a full day dedicated to this pulpous fruit. In the morning you can help pick the olives from the tree by raking them onto the underlying nets. Then, after a hearty lunch, Lucio will accompany you to the mill to show you how this green liquid is produced. You will be able to take home a little taste of this unforgettable day.

Hands on cooking class led by a local chef. Umbria is reknown for its authentic dishes that sing from the heart. Because of the high quality of the local products putting the ingredients together is more a matter of love… and the result will be simple but surprising, just like the people who live here. You will learn to make home made pasta and a scrumptious sauce to accompany it. Then you can choose from a second course or a dessert. And of course you get to eat what you’ve cooked in the end. The lesson usually takes place in your rented holiday home and is a fun group/family experience!

In Podere delle Querce, organic farm just outside of Città della Pieve, where Stefano and Heidi produce their own oil and saffron. Their philosophy is based on respect of the land. Their passion emerges in the quality of their unique products. The experience includes a tour of the farm followed by a special tasting session, which includes an aperitif, a starter, a first course and a dessert- all home made cooked and prepared by the hosts themselves and using their organic produce, accompanied by a good wine.
