FISCAL CODE
What is a fiscal code? Why do I need it?
The Italian fiscal code, officially known in Italy as Codice fiscale, is a tax code similar to a Social Security Number and you need it to buy a house (and to do a lot of other things).
You apply for it in the Italian Tax office.

ITALIAN BANK ACCOUNT
It is not mandatory to have an Italian bank account but it certainly makes you life easier if you want to make payments locally and if you want to pay your utility bills direct debit.
